Prostate Cancer Hot Flashes

Treatment Options

Do you experience hot flashes as a result of your prostate cancer treatment? 

Hot Flashes are a common side effect for men who are taking hormone therapy for prostate cancer.  Our physicians are conducting a research study of an investigational medication that is not yet approved by the FDA to treat hot flashes associated with hormone therapy.  If you have had frequent and bothersome hot flashes fort at least the past month, you nay be eligible to take part.  If you qualify, you will receive all study related care, a no charge, including doctor visits, laboratory services and study medication.

 

Symptoms of hot flashes in men with prostate cancer have received increasing attention in recent years.  It is estimated that 40-80% if neb receiving hormone therapy for their prostate cancer experience hot flashes.  Current research is looking to provide relief these symptoms and improve the quality of life in cancer patients.
