A multi-center clinical research trial is open to adult oncology patients  suffering from chronic anemia caused by cancer, chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Summary: This clinical research trial will evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug in the treatment of chronic anemia of cancer.

Eligible patients who choose to participate will have weekly clinic visits for 16 weeks (12 weeks of dosing and a 4-week follow-up).

In order to participate in this study, the following requirements must be met:

bulletSubjects must be at least 18 years old.
bulletSubjects must have anemia predominantly due to cancer or previous chemotherapy or radiotherapy. For purposes of this study, anemia is defined as having a hemoglobin level of < 11.0/dl.
bulletSubjects must have a non-myeloid malignancy -with no CNS involvement.
bulletSubjects must not be receiving or be planned to receive cytotoxic chemotherapy or radiotherapy -while on the study.
bulletSubjects may not currently be treated with, or have been treated in the last 30 days, with any other investigational device or drug.
bulletSubjects may not be screened for this study until at least 8 weeks have passed since their last chemotherapy dose. Other protocol inclusion / exclusion criteria must be met as determined by clinical staff during subject screening.
