Buyer beware, there are many alternative therapies on the market, and desperate patients are frequently defrauded by  charlatans selling snake oil.  There are a few alternatives that we will mention that may or may not help, but of which we are aware  (see also Prevention)

Vitamin E  may provide some protective effects before prostate cancer develops, we do not know if it is helpful in treatment.

Selenium may provide some protective effects before prostate cancer develops, we do not know if it is helpful in treatment.

Lycopene found in cooked tomato products may provide some protective effects before prostate cancer develops, we do not know if it is helpful in treatment.

Green Tea may provide some protective effects before prostate cancer develops, we do not know if it is helpful in treatment.  Preparation and source may be important.

Soy or Tofu may provide some protective effects before prostate cancer develops, we do not know if it is helpful in treatment. Preparation and source may be important.

Vitamin D may be beneficial to some PCA patients .

Prostate 2.1 by Theralogix is a certified combination of naturally occurring forms of Vit. D, Vit. E, lycopene, selenium and soy in appropriate dosage.  It is not available in stores, It can be ordered at: 1 888 899 3899 or at Click here: Theralogix.com  Use code 30089

PC-Spes,    [See PC-SPES ALERT]  A snake oil special!!  It turns out this "miracle" drug was seeded with DES or estrogen, an old and well known treatment for prostate cancer, with blood clotting problems.  When someone stopped the estrogen supply, the "successes" disappeared.

Check with your doctor before self treatment or at least let him know what alternatives you are taking on your own!
