Treatment of stress incontinence, employs different choices, both surgical and non surgical. The  treatment will vary depending on the  severity of the condition,  the results of the evaluation, and the patient's health and desire for treatment.

The patient with minimal or mild stress incontinence may respond very well to exercise or biofeedback, whereas those suffering moderate to severe leakage will probably require surgery.   Stress incontinence tends to worsen with age, so that a patient who is successful in controlling the problem for a period of months or years with non-surgical treatment, may eventually require a surgical repair, and patients with a successful surgical repair, may need a repeat at some future time.

Non-surgical treatments may include: Kegel exercises, pelvic stimulation or biofeedback, medication or a pessary
